Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant unveiled last week his new signature shoe from Nike. Dubbed as Nike Zoom Kobe IV, the shoe boasts of a lighter, high performance material, even lighter than the much acclaimed Hyperdunk.
According to the story, Kobe asked the Nike designers to come up with a very lightweight shoe that's cut low. The Nike folks took up the challenge and used the innovations from previous shoes, the Flywire (from the Hyperdunk shoe) and the LunarLite cushioning system. The resulting shoe was the lightest low-cut Nike sneaker ever made-- 13 ounces!
The Nike Zoom Kobe IV will be available in retail in 2009.
