Lakers Lose on Phantom Call
This is turning out to be one bumpy road trip.
The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Toronto Raptors, no thanks to a phantom foul called on Pau Gasol in the waning seconds of the game. That bad call resulted in two free throws made by Hedo Turkoglu and placed the Lakers in the all-too-familiar situation of hinging on a last second shot to win the game.
Kobe Bryant, the hero of three games this season that featured his game-winning shots, tried in vain to save the Lakers on a potential buzzer beater. The Lakers' late game breakdowns again caused their downfall in a game that they should have won easily-- The Raptors are a borderline .500 team that got their biggest win of 2010 to date.
