Well that was quick!
The Lakers were on top of the NBA's Western Conference when they sported a 26-11 win-loss record a few days back. Some even would say they were on top of the NBA.
But in a matter of a couple of days, the Lakers dropped from the top spot with a loss to Western Conference nemesis Phoenix Suns. The loss also halted a 7-game winning streak for the Lakers.
Some experts point to a continuous slide, with big man Andrew Bynum out for two weeks with a knee injury. That leaves Lakers whipping boy Kwame Brown manning the middle (On a side note, thank goodness he dropped the corn rows).
I think the Lakers won't spiral into a funk, given the bench is much stronger and the team has played with better chemistry for most part of the season. Plus, there's the Kobe Bryant factor. He may go back into a more bulk-scoring machine with the situation and forgo his playmaker role. Besides, with Kwame Brown catching your passes, that makes a lot of sense for the Lakers
