If Lebron James is "The King," he definitely acted like a spoiled monarch after they lost to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals (ECF).
After the Cleveland Cavaliers lost 103-90 in Game Six of the ECF, LeBron James walked off the court and refused to shake the hands of the victors. Talk about being a sore loser! Here's what LeBron had to say:
It's hard for me to congratulate somebody after you just lose to them. I'm a winner. It's not being a poor sport or anything like that. If somebody beats you up, you're not going to congratulate them. That doesn't make sense to me. I'm a competitor. That's what I do. It doesn't make sense for me to go over and shake somebody's hand.WTF?!? Just because you're a "winner" you're spared from sportsman-like protocol?
Well LeBron, you haven't won any rings yet so you're technically not in the winner's circle.
It also annoys me to no end that LeBron's team has either kept mum or defended his unsportsman-like actions. This tolerance just spoils James further and fuels his whining attitude. Can you imagine Phil Jackson defending Kobe Bryant in this type of situation? (Jackson has criticized Kobe and called him "uncoachable" in the past).
So to LeBron James, shake the hands of your vanquishers. It's not supposed to be fun, but it's what real winners do.

That which we criticize others over exists in ourselves. Lebron had a moment but we've all had them. Not our job to judge.

They kicked Pierce's precious butt and King James royal ass like Dwight's bullying Van Gundy.
In my heart, Lakers can win it all today but Magic sometimes pull rabbits and beasts out from their sleeves.

ReplyDeleteNice point, LeBron James is at a point where there are certain expectations. And when those expectations are met, people will have their value judgment on the matter. The fact that you think it's a matter of non-judgment is already a judgment.

ReplyDeleteSore losers. At least when the suns got mad about the spurs wining in 2006/2007 it was proven that the referee called the game in favor of the spurs because of mafia bets. Lakers and fans are just pure sore losers.
