Ex-Lakers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Vlade Divac and Robert Horry in Manila

Former Los Angeles Lakers players Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Vlade Divac, and Robert Horry are here in Manila for the Philippine leg of the NBA Asia Challenge.

Joining them are former NBA All-stars Dominique Wilkins, Tim Hardaway, and several NBDL players to face a team of selected former and current Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players. Abdul-Jabbar is the assistant coach of the "NBA Generations" team.

Also, the NBA legends launched the very first NBA Cares outreach activity here in the Philippines. They went to one of the sites of Gawad Kalinga, a housing project for the poor, and the NBA Legends helped build houses.

The face-off between the NBA Generations team and the PBA All-Stars tomorrow at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Tickets sell at PhP264 for general admission, PhP792 for upper box, PhP1,320 for upper box A, PhP2,112 for lower box, and PhP2,640 for ringside.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch the game. (Ugh!) This is the second time I'm missing an NBA-related event here in Manila. The first one? Kobe Bryant's visit here for his Nike Dream Season Tour.
